Sauteed Kale

A healthy, tasty and colorful side dish for a quick weeknight meal or entertaining. Cooks up in minutes and tastes great the next day too.

Serves 2-3 as a side dish


  • 1 bunch of kale (I used redbor kale, but other types would work great too)
  • 2 tablespoons of shallot oil
  • 1 tablespoon of sesame seeds
  • salt and pepper to taste


  1. Remove stems from your washed kale, and chop into one inch pieces
  2. Toast sesame seeds on a dry pan over medium-high heat (stirring frequently) until lightly browned, about 5 minutes and then set aside
  3. Heat shallot oil in a skillet on high heat and add in chopped kale.  Stir frequently until tender, about 6-8 minutes
  4. Remove from heat and plate, then sprinkle toasted sesame seeds over and serve immediately
